What is the course about?
This course is for students who wish to resit their GCSE to improve their grade from a D to a C. You will work on coursework assignments and explore fiction and non fiction texts. You will also look at how language is used; develop your speaking and listening skills and improve your spelling, punctuation and grammar.

How long & often do I attend?
You will usually attend three lessons per week and will have to meet the college attendance targets in order to progress.
How will I be assessed?
You will be required to submit coursework which is worth 40% of your overall grade. You will also be required to sit an examination which is worth 60% of your overall grade.
What opportunities will this lead to?
You could progress to a level 3 course such as an A Level programme or a BTEC National Diploma. GCSE English is necessary for many jobs, including teaching.
