Course Content: Throughout this course you will learn by integrated study. In the English Literature modules you will learn about: Poetry; Drama; Novels; Travel Writing and in the English Language modules, you will study how speech and writing work, including the study of grammar, conversation, everyday written tests such as journalism, advertising, childrens books and official documents.
You will focus on two novels for Coursework - Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and In Cold Blood by Truman Capote.
Special Features: Theatre trips are usually offered as part of AS and A2 courses.
Course Format: You will learn by reading two full length novels, discussions, independent research, and complete presentations via group work, lecturers, screenings on films, close textual analysis.
Assessments are in the form of regular worksheets, one to one discussions, contribution to all discussions and regular written work.
40% of the grade will be assessed by coursework

Progression: To progress onto A2 a minimum D Grade at AS is required.
