3. Entry requirements All learners interested in GCSE are required to take an Initial Assessment at the College prior to enrolling irrespective of any grades they may already have achieved in English. Students enrolling on this course will be expected to sit an Initial Assessment prior to being accepted onto the course. This will be a paper based test to assess your literacy or numeracy skills to ensure that you will be able to cope with the demands of the course. Please see brochure for Initial Assessment dates. The purpose of the assessment is to ensure that learners are guided onto the right course and to offer the best level of help for each student, for example, some learners may be offered booster classes. If booster classes are offered they must be attended and signed for. All learners must attend the first session of this class which will be a guidance session.
