About the Course
This course is offered to students who have no or little previous knowledge of Italian, and who have proved themselves competent language learners at GCSE. It is an excellent complement to advanced level programmes, whether French, German or Spanish are being studied or not.
It is a one-year course, of four hours per week, taught by one tutor in a specialist language room. The course will cover five areas of experience, namely: everyday activities; personal and social life; the world around us; the world of work and the international world. Equal emphasis is given to the four language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, which each contribute 25% to the final mark.
Assessment for the AQA GCSE qualification involves terminal exams in each of the four skills at either foundation or higher level.
*Only available to students on Level 3 programmes of study.
