It will give you a broad understanding of challenging issues ranging across social and cultural geography, environment and development studies.

About this course


Graduates can pursue careers in development NGOs, policy organisations, charities or corporate social responsibility. This degree may also be useful in becoming a social researcher, charity officer, human resources officer, higher education lecturer or policy adviser.

We welcome applicants without traditional entry qualifications as we base decisions on our own assessment of qualifications, knowledge and previous work experience. We may waive formal entry requirements based on judgement of academic potential.

Upon successful completion of the Foundation Year, you can automatically progress on to our three-year, full-time, evening study BSc Geography and International Development.

For the Foundation Year, you take four core modules at Level 3, each worth 30 credits, to a total of 120 credits.

If you successfully complete the year, you will automatically advance on to the three-year, full-time, evening study BSc Geography and International Development.
