Using henna in its various forms, you will learn the essential techniques that form the foundations for creating flowing designs. During the henna course, you will learn the health and safety of using henna in its various forms and its aftercare, as well how patterns differ from country to country. You will work on various projects of applying intricate ethnic henna patterns onto candles, picture frames and vases of your choice.

You don’t have to be a great artist or a creative genius as this course is designed for someone who is relatively new to henna painting as well as those looking to expand their knowledge. It is important to note these courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.

How will I learn?
The tutor will give demonstrations, you will work on individual projects. Group discussions and reviews will be integral to the course. PowerPoint presentations and video clips will also be utilised. Handouts will be provided with more information and methods used.
How will my progress be monitored and assessed?
Your work will be shown to your tutor who will advise you on progress and provide verbal feedback.

What equipment or materials will I need to provide?
Some equipment and materials will need to be provided by you. You should be prepared to bring henna, plus subject(s) to create your designs onto. Costs will vary according to the material chosen. Your tutor will advise you as you progress with projects.
What other support is available?
Help with numeracy or literacy is available. ICT drop-in sessions are available during term time and are open to all learners. Additional support can be provided for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Learner Support Funding is available for equipment, childcare and travel to learners who qualify.
