Internship Opportunity in Greece!

Emagister proposes you to join an animal life research and conservation program, especially the golden jackal, offered by Archipelagos, Institute of Marine Conservation.

Samos is the only Mediterranean island that still has an established population of the golden jackal (Canis aureus) that is genetically differentiated from all other populations in the world. However, there is still a knowledge gap of these charismatic canids and especially of the island population of Samos.

Archipelagos carries out several projects related to golden jackals, using various techniques and approaches. To monitor the local population, camera traps are used. They are loaded with different foods, predominantly meat. This approach has several objectives, such as individual identification, smell use research, food preference and general observation of this shy species. For each of these objectives, the camera and the bait must be placed in different ways.

Without a doubt, it is a job that requires a lot of effort but it is worth it. We want you to be part of this rewarding work, since our action is only possible with your help. You can request an internship in order to enrich your knowledge with the practical experience of field research and conservation.

We invite you to request more information through the Emagister website to give you more details, solve your doubts and help you in the internship application process. Do not miss this opportunity!
