Thanks to the popularity of The Great British Bake Off, one of the most searched phrases on Google is now ‘Cake Recipes’. This made us very excited, so we have delved further into this category to find out what cakes you would all like to learn to bake. Here’s the top 10…

Have these cakes inspired you to get baking? If so, why not join us on our 6-week cake baking course where you will learn how to bake 6 of our favourite recipes including: chocolate cake, lemon drizzle cake, carrot cake, red velvet cake, victoria sponge and a rainbow cake. (These may be subject to change)

These 2½ hour sessions have been specifically designed as an introduction to home baking. We deliver this course at beginner level so our students can experience and gain confidence with a range of techniques to create delicious cakes.

Don't just search the recipe's, come and have a go and take home the fruits of your efforts to try with family and friends!

Special Requirements

Additional Equipment - Students will be expected to bring their own equipment or purchase some tools prior to and during the course as well as bring materials/ingredients with them each week. An initial list will be given out prior to the start of the course and subsequent specialist items required for certain weeks thereafter will be notified by the tutor

You will need to bring an apron/overall for all sessions and should you wish to, please feel free to bring your own camera along to take photographs of the tutor demonstrations and your own handy work on the night!

Special Education Needs and Disability - Short Courses Prospective students who have a disability that may affect their studies should inform the College as soon as possible. Regrettably the College does not receive funding for the provision of learning support for students with additional learning needs attending Short Courses, which are run on a full-cost basis. The College's Learning Support Service may be able to provide support but it is the responsibility of the student to meet the cost.
