About this course
This course can lead to a place at a university on Degree, Foundation Degree (FDA) or Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in related areas of study.
It may be possible to obtain junior positions within the design industry after successfully completing this course.
You will be required to have gained at least 4 GCSEs (C grade or above) normally including English and at least one Art/Design subject. Alternatively, you will have achieved at merit level a First Diploma in art and design or equivalent. You will also attend a portfolio interview with a member of the teaching team.

Course programme
The course is a challenging broad-based course which covers 180 credits related to Graphic Design including: Typography, Drawing, Materials Techniques and Processes, Contextual Studies (History of Art and Design) and Computers in Art and Design. The aims of the course are to develop your skills through a series of projects that explore and build on creative thinking strategies and the use of materials techniques and processes.
You will progress onto the Extended Diploma after successful completion of the Diploma in the first year.
Assessment is continuous, at regular intervals, which includes all project work undertaken, throughout the two years of study.
