This course is designed for people who wish to acquire the practical skills needed to gain employment within the Greenkeeping industry.

The course provides students with the recognised skills and knowledge to develop a career in the greenkeeping industry. The course is a combination of both theoretical and practical subjects. Students will be trained and assessed on all aspects of golf course practical competencies to a high standard by the fully qualified Lantra instructors on site at the Elmwood 18 hole golf course.

What Will I Learn

A range of topics will be covered during the course including golf course construction, turf grass identification and production, soils and root zones and golf course tournament preparation.

How Will I Learn

The course is a combination of both theoretical and practical subjects using the extensive resources at Elmwood, including 18 hole golf course.

Progression Opportunities

On successful completion students can progress to the SVQ Level 2/3 Sports Turf Maintenance course, the HNC Golf course Management, HNC Golf Facility Management course or employment.
