  • Minimum Literacy Level: Level 2

This course may improve your employment prospects within various fields of the industry or may lead to other areas of study.

What will I study?
Subjects you will study include: cutting and restyling, advanced perming techniques, advanced colouring techniques, health and safety, design and create a range of images, thermal style and relax hair, set and dress hair. Literacy, numeracy and IT are incorporated into the programme of study.

How will I be taught?
The course concentrates on the more advanced techniques of hairdressing. This is assessed through salon sessions, competition work, photographic sessions and in the workplace. Field trips and visiting companies are incorporated into the programme to provide a greater insight to the industry.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a number of assignments which you will need to complete which directly relate to the practical units in the salon whilst working on clients, written examinations and oral questioning.

Your tutor is there to help and advise you throughout the course, and the College offers a comprehensive range of student services including learning support, language support and guidance.
