Course programme

What will I learn?

You will learn about: consultations and diagnostics; cutting hair; colouring hair; styling and setting hair; stock control; interacting with the public; and health & safety You will also learn functional skills You will have the opportunity to compete in College competitions, with winners going onto national and international 'WorldSkills' competitions

How will I be assessed?

Through practical tasks and written assessments

What may it lead to?

You can work in salons as hairdressers and stylists, or progress to a Level 3 Hairdressing course

Entry Requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs, two of which must be grade C in both Maths and English The other GCSEs must be grade D in any subject

Work Experience

Work experience is highly recommended

This course is also available as an evening option for students who are unable to study in the day Students will need to purchase a uniform and hairdressing kit (from our approved suppliers)and must abide by our professional dress code More information will be given at the interview stage
