About this course

No previous experience or qualifications are necessary. It is advised that learners have already completed the Conflict Management Level 2 and Door Supervision Level 2 awards.

On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a Handcuffing Level 2 certificate. I have been a trainer for 10 years. I train a variety of subjects, including security, licensing, first aid and teacher training. I have worked in the security industry for over 20 years, in various disciplines, including Close Protection, Door Supervision and as a CCTV operative. I utilise a variety of training techniques to ensure every learner feels included within the classroom environment.

Course programme

Course content:
  • The law relating to the use of reasonable force.
  • The use and application of physical intervention techniques.
  • Escorting, guiding, holding and communication skills.
  • The possible medical implication in relation to the use of handcuffs.
  • The potential legal implications in relation to the use of handcuffs.
  • The deployment and application of handcuffs.
  • The safe removal of handcuffs on a subject.
How the qualification is assessed:

The course is run at our training facilities over 1 day. The qualification is assessed by a written work book. Learners will need to complete the work book in full. Practical assessments will take place throughout the day to ensure that correct techniques are applied. You will need to pass both work book and practical assessments to successfully complete this course.
