"FUTURE FOR FAMILIES" PARENTING PROGRAMME
ABOUT THE COURSE
Our Handling Children's Behaviour course is one of our most popular courses. It is a two-day course that trains childcare professionals in the use of our 'Future for Families' parenting programme. The programme has been created to provide childcare professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to work with parents on how to handle children's behaviour. We provide a step-by-step guide for workers on how to run our 10 week parenting programme. Following the course, participants receive a handbook with guides on running each session plus handout materials which can be distributed to parents.
The parenting programme can be used to run parent groups in your community or alternatively the material can be used with families on an individual basis. Our 'Future for Families' programme has been tried and tested for over 25 years and takes into account the needs of children and parents across the UK. We look at the latest political messages about parenting, behaviour and education, and consider how these things impact on family life in 21st century Britain.
We can train up to 25 people on our Handling Children's Behaviour two-day course, often jointly training nursery officers, family support workers, family placement workers, teachers and community workers who work in the same area. The advantage of this type of training is that you can develop a joint and consistent approach to families in your area and also share the cost.
Future Childcare Training Limited would like to emphasis that only professionals who have undertaken the two-day training course can deliver our material to parent groups. The course is practice based and offers a practical down to earth approach which builds confidence. This course has been recommended nationally to the Sure Start/Flying Start initiatives.

Our Handling Children's Behaviour Team & Group Course is priced at £150 per person + VAT. The only additional expenses are our trainer's travel expenses and accommodation for our trainer (if necessary). If you are an individual or you have a small team of people wanting to be trained, you may wish to contact other teams or local authorities in your area to see if you can join together to form a larger group (between 12 and 25 delegates). If you would like to book a team and group course please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss suitable dates.
