Description
HWV, a not for profit company with charitable status was set up in 1985. Our purpose is: 'To increase the choices and opportunities available to local people so that they have a better quality of life and a higher standard of living.'The organisation is managed by a Board of Directors the majority of whom live in the BS13 area, our charitable area of benefit.HWV owns, manages and is based at The Gatehouse Centre. The Centre, opened in 1995, houses a purpose built training centre, workshop, office and retail units, conference and meeting rooms, a café and a nursery. HWV also owns the Lampton Avenue small business units.HWV contracts with the Learning and Skills Council and Job Centre Plus to deliver employment and training programmes to both employed and unemployed people over the age of 16 years.
