This half-day course outlines the three key transport modes and the rules associated with them. It will focus on the following aspects: terminology, documentation, labelling, segregation and packing. Suitable for: This course is designed for delegates with between 1 months and 2 years. experience. However, some delegates may find it very useful if they are very new and have not been involved in the movement of Dangerous Goods before. Ideally suited for sales, shipping, and customer service or despatch personnel who have just started their export career.

Hazardous Goods - An Awareness

Many exporting companies are involved in movements of Dangerous/Hazardous Goods. The legislation governing these movements
change regularly and there are changes to both ADR (road) and IATA (air) on
1st January 2009. The Chamber Hazardous Goods Course does not provide the IATA or ADR qualification. It is designed to give delegates an awareness of the issues surrounding the movements of Dangerous Goods and to act as a useful starting point for any new or inexperienced member of staff.

• Introduction to the Subject/UN Recommendations
• ADR – Road (Introduction)
• IMDG – Sea (Introduction)
• IATA – Air (Introduction)
• IATA and Sitpro Dangerous Goods Notes
• Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and TREM Cards
• Classification of Hazardous Goods
• Consignor Responsibility
