Qualification: AS/A2 - 2 year course
Course type: Level 3 (advanced)

4 x GCSE B grades

Course assessment:
Examined AS and A2 units are assessed by compulsory structured questions requiring some short and some longer answers in a one and a half hour exam.
All other units are assessed on a portfolio of work (coursework) based on the content of the unit.

You will learn and develop the skills essential for working with people in any career, such as oral presentation skills, researching information, report writing, questionnaire design and results analysis and evaluation.

Future Opportunities
AS/A2 Health & Social Care prepares you for entry to employment or higher education in early years education, nursing, paramedical careers, health promotion, disability and community studies, psychology, social work and the social sciences.
Students have also used their Single or Double Awards to take them into the Police, retail management, health and safety, criminology and the Armed Services.
The Single AS and A2 awards carry the same number of points as equivalent AS/A2 subjects for entry to higher education; the Double AS/A2 awards carry double the number of points. All the qualifications are valid for entry to degree courses at university.
