Health Visitor 6-8 Weeks Check

Health visitors role has been changing over period. There is always intention of upskilling and taking new role for helping children 0-5 years.

6-8 weeks baby check will provide a new skill to the health visitors and will spare GPs time. It will not only provide more satisfaction to health visitors themselves but also to mothers who may feel more open to discuss minor problems during 6-8 weeks check while they may hesitate to discuss the same with GP.

Since it is a screening test, a well structured course with built in assessments give competency skills for picking up abnormalities. Health visitors are encouraged to discuss all suspicious cases with general practitioners or relevant medical professionals.
