If you have an interest in the past and want to understand about our culture and heritage then this course will appeal to you. By being better informed about the past, it does enable us to better understand the present. Moreover, many of the international issues of today have their origins deep in the past. You will be studying how African Americans earned their civil rights, why Stalin emerged to rule Russia in the 1920s and 1930s and carried out policies that killed millions of his fellow citizens and how Britain played the key role in winning the First World War.

Entry Requirements
You will need to have a minimum of five academic GCSE subjects at grade C or above. These must include English Language and maths.
Delivery and Assessment
You will be assessed by exams at the end of your course. Throughout the course you will be assessed by presentations, regular written assessments and knowledge tests.
Progression
After this course you can progress to university to complete a history degree. This is well regarded and helps in career paths including journalism, business, the civil service and education due to the skills gained in research, communication and statistics.
