2. Course description This AS/ A level reflects' the society we live in and helps us understand the world today. The course studies the Cold War, as relevant today as it was in 1989. It examines the pressures within the Middle East, bringing insight and understanding into the regions conflicts. The coursework unit allows you to develop your analytical & research skills whilst you choose the subject. Remember you do not need to have a GCSE in History, all that is required is an interest and desire to understand.

3. Entry requirements --6 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths--You do not need a GCSE in History to study history, just an interest in the subject-- 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method Assessment for AS level history is by two written examinations each of 1 hour and 30 minutes with equal weighting.These exams will be sat at the end of the first year and do not contribute to the final A-level.
