History of Art, AS-level
About the Course
The AS Level part of History of Art is structured to develop your knowledge and understanding of some of the working methods of artists, designers, architects and craft workers.
Explore theories of art and design, and art and society, by investigating styles and trends and how signs and symbols are used to convey meaning. Study art and design first hand - visits to museums and galleries will be an integral part of your course. There is also an annual international study visit.
The A2 Level year of the course is concerned with your individual development through critical work, a personal study and supporting evidence. Identify and select a focus for your investigation based on a selected aspect of others†art, craft or design work. Continue to study art and design first hand with more visits to museums and galleries. There is another international study visit in this year.
