Reviews
Course programme
Course review:
Every day, over 6,800 persons become infected with HIV and over 5,700 persons die from AIDS, mostly because of inadequate access to HIV information, prevention and treatment services. The HIV pandemic remains the most serious of infectious disease challenges to public health. Nonetheless, the current epidemiologic assessment has encouraging elements since it suggests: the global creation of awareness, education and support to those infected and affected is urgent. This advanced diploma course provides information and skills on how HIV/AIDS can be prevented that individuals, families, institutions and organisations can use to provide care and support to those infected and affected.
Aims of the Course:
This course will enable you to:
1. Gather the knowledge and skills you require to participate fully and effectively in the prevention of HIV/AIDS and STIs.
2. Understand the practical issues faced by people living with HIV/AIDS and STIs face and identify coping strategies to help them live useful and productive lives.
3. Be introduced to effective management skills.
