Why become a Home Inspector?

Home Inspectors produce Home Condition Reports (HCRs) for Home Information Packs. The HCR includes a detailed condition report of a property’s current state and highlights any potential future concerns that a purchaser may have. This document accompanies the EPC within the HIP.

Although not a mandatory component within a HIP, a small number of home sellers (usually at the higher end of the market) will select to include a HCR to help potential purchasers make a more informed decision when making an offer and reduce the future likelihood of a sale falling through once a sale has been agreed.

YourHIPSearch recommend that you research the demand for HCRs in your area before committing to this training. It is possible to upgrade from the level 3 domestic energy assessor course to become a Home Inspector.

What does the course include?

The Home Inspector training course includes the following:

  • Level 3 DEA training – 3 day course to ABBE level 3 diploma
  • HCR training – further 8 days training for modules split by distance learning
  • Level 4 ABBE Home Inspection Diploma – following successful completion of course
  • Course materials – everything you need for your training
  • Continuous assessment – marking the modules as you complete them
  • Lunch & refreshments – included throughout the onsite training course days
  • Registration – free registration with banks of national HI providers
