Course programme
The course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and vocational qualifications so that you can work in a horse related environment or progress onto Higher Education in this area.
You will be expected to be available to attend college for a minimum of two and a half days per week plus a day work experience. You must be prepared to commit to 100% attendance.
The following units must be completed to achieve the Subsidiary Diploma qualification:
- Understand and Promote Animal Health
- Understand the Principles of Animal Biology
- Select, fit and evaluate tack
- Riding and exercising horses
- Plan and monitor feeding
- Undertake and Review Work Experience in the Land-based Industries
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Undertake stable and yard management
