About this Course
Further expand your knowledge in animal management with the Level 3 course. During this course, you will develop a deeper understanding of all aspects of animal husbandry, behaviour, science and ecology.

You will also gain a great deal of practical expertise while working on our on-site animal collection, Mining Meadows; with over 200 animals from over 60 different species.

What will I study?
Units cover all areas of animal management including:
  • Animal behaviour, training and welfare
  • Ecology, conservation and zoo studies
  • Animal sciences: anatomy and physiology; biology; chemistry; genetics and nutrition
  • Animal health, veterinary nursing and livestock management
  • Business management for land-based industries and work experience

    • Taught by experts in the industry
    • We also have links with many local and national animal centres and sanctuaries including the Tropical Butterfly House, Twycross Zoo, Mayfield Alpacas and Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
    • Gain 150 hours practical work experience
    • You will be taught animal first aid and emergency first aid

      What can I progress to?
      After completing this course you can either find employment or go on to further study at university. A high percentage of Level 3 students have successfully progressed onto university to study animal related subjects.
