Additional Information: No formal qualification is required, however, students must have an interest in Travel and Tourism, a commitment to study hard and a high level of attendance and punctuality. Students will be required to meet deadlines and to complete work effectively as part of a team.

COURSE OUTLINE
Teaching is based on coursework, taking the form of practical assignments, with formal teaching to explain the background to the assignments. The course is divided into different units, each covering a particular topic of the subject. Students complete units for a full qualification.

Three core units:

• Starting Work in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism
• Working in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism
• Introductory Customer Service

Two from the following Personal Skill units:

• Personal Effectiveness
• Social Responsibility at Work
• Financial Management

Three from the following specialist units:

• The Aspiring Chef
• Food Service with a Smile
• Planning Trips
• Using Displays in Travel & Tourism
• Work Experience

Some units will last the whole of the year whilst others will be completed in a shorter time.

Progression:
Progression to a BTEC First Diploma course at SFX or another college Progression to work/training.
