Course review:

The new Emergency First Aid at Work course has been available since October 1st 2009 and is approved by the HSE.

This one day course is proving amazingly popular across all industries and chances are, as you are reading this, somewhere in the UK right now, we will be providing ths course to one of our customers!

This course will allow successful attendees to be first aiders within the workplace. As you know providing first aid cover in the workplace is a legal requirement. (that's probably why your are reading this!) This isn't going to change when the new set of first aid regulations come into force on the 1st October 2009.

The HSE are looking to update and simplify the numbers of first aiders within the workplace by amending the current three categorys (low, medium and high risk) to two: low and high. This will aid companies in their risk assessment and decision making process as to which course they should send their staff on. The new three day First Aid at Work course or the new one day Emergency First Aid at Work course.

Be aware you may need to perform a new first aid risk assessment to ensure your company complies with this new legislation. The HSE have a pdf available to download called First Aid at Work Your Questions Answered to help you.
