This 2 day course has been designed to meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work Regulations 1981.   It is recommended that those who already hold a 4 day FAW Certificate should renew through this course within three years.

COURSE CONTENT

The course has been designed as per the HSE Guidelines.  The Core Modules are:

Responsibilities of the First Aider

Basic Life Support

The Unconscious Casualty

Dealing with Wounds

Fractures, Sprains and Strains

Burns

Bandaging and Patient Handling

Heat & Cold Injuries

Transporting the Casualty

Medical Emergencies

Dealing with an Emergency

Reporting Procedures

CERTIFICATION

The Course is Assessed by Written Examination and Practical Skills Assessment.  Successful students will be re-issued a HSE FAW Certificate.
