Academic criteria:

Students must meet one of the following minimum academic qualifications: A UK University degree or equivalent combined with appropriate professional experience at CIPD Band 2 or 3 [see below]; CIPD validated qualification at Intermediate level (e.g. the University’s Diploma HRM); A University Diploma or Graduate Diploma in a relevant topic; An S/NVQ level 4 in a relevant topic. Professional criteria: Applicants will be operating at Band 2 but can clearly see the career transition to Band 3 or in the early stages of Band 3....

Course programme

Programme at a Glance Year 1

Semester 1 (September to January – Wednesday 1pm-7:30pm)

There are two modules in the first semester:

  • Human Resource Management in Context
  • Managing, Leading & Developing People

Semester 2 (January to May – Wednesday 1pm-7:30pm)

There are two modules in the second semester:

  • Investigating a Business Issue
  • Developing Skills for Business Leaders.

Year 2

In Year 2 students need to undertake four option modules and these will determine whether you are awarded an HRM or HRD qualification. You need to do at least three options in either HRM or HRD. Further advice will be given on option choices by the Course Leader.
