HUMINT is a category of intelligence gathered primarily by human collectors from human sources as opposed to other types of intelligence gathered by technical means such as satellite and imagery intelligence (SIGINT and IMINT). The process of HUMINT is known as the "intelligence cycle" and includes planning, collection, analysis, production and dissemination.The 3-day HUMINT course provides an introduction and overview to the intelligence cycle including the collection methodology, source-handling, security and tradecraft, and surveillance. It also reviews the process of analysis, that is, turning raw, unevaluated information into useful, finished intelligence. Students will be introduced to several types of intelligence report writing and an analytical framework. Class time: 0800-1600 hours; after-class work required
