Introduction:
This course is studied by a mixture of distance learning and class taught sessions. It has been designed to be flexible and practical. You will have lectures on each topic which will then be followed up by hands-on sessions in the computer rooms with experienced staff on hand to help. Students will also be expected to spend time outside formal classes practising what they have learnt.

Study Mode & Location:
This three year part-time course will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Year Two

• Introduction to Business Accounting
• Interactive Media Production
• Advanced Spreadsheet Applications
• Relational Databases
• Web Page Design
• Advanced Word Processing and DeskTop Publishing

Year Three

• Programming Java Script
• Dynamic Web Page Design & Website Administration
• ICT in Society
• Workplace based project

Assessment:
Each module is assessed separately through a mixture of class-based assignments, and end of module examinations.

The Foundation Degree in ICT has been designed so that the skills obtained will find wide application in the workplace and will meet the needs of advanced ICT users.
