This course has been designed to meet the needs of healthcare professionals working anywhere in the world.
This is a flexible, interactive, distance learning programme, enabling you to study whenever and wherever you want for the duration of the modules. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of infection prevention and control practice including applied microbiology, antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship, decontamination, risk management and outbreak control.
We have two intakes per year (September and January). The programme is delivered on a modular basis over a period of three and a half years.You will undertake four modules including two specialist infection prevention and control modules, one research module and one optional module. After completing these four modules you will progress to your dissertation for which you be allocated a supervisor.

This course is aimed at all healthcare professionals. In this programme you will enhance your knowledge and professional practice in infection prevention and control practice.
On completion of this course you will have developed the knowledge and skills to enable you to practice as a specialist within the field of infection prevention and control.
This unique programme also facilitates the development of graduate, lifelong learning skills (such as critical reflection, critical thinking, problem-solving and the use of evidence-based practice) to enhance your professional and academic skills. This will maximise the opportunities for your career development and progression in the field of infection prevention and control.
Both UK and international professionals from a range of disciplines will be eligible to undertake the programme, if working in an area related to Infection Prevention and Control, Health Protection or Infectious Diseases, or similar.
You'll normally need to have a degree or equivalent and work in a health or social care related area.
