Become part of a global network of healthcare professionals learning together to transform lives and improve healthcare outcomes by studying this post-graduate infection prevention and control programme. Students will be energised to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of topics such as applied microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control practice.

The programme has been designed to meet the needs of both UK based and international healthcare professionals. This is a flexible, interactive, distance learning programme, so students can study whenever and wherever they want. Learning material is also specifically tailored to the area in which each student works.

There are two intakes per year (September and January). The programme is delivered on a modular basis over a period of three and a half years. However, if a degree level module has been completed within the last five years, these credits may be able to be transferred into the programme. For the full MSc programme, students will undertake four modules that will expand their thinking and expertise. These include two modules specific to infection prevention and control, a professional module and research and evidence-based practice module. These are followed by a research-based dissertation (a small research project or an evidence review). For this, students will work on the dissertation module with an allocated supervisor. Students can however, exit after the first year (two modules) with a Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control, or at the end of the second year (four modules) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control.
