About this course

You cover the practicalities of wireless technologies, LAN and WAN implementation and network security. One third of the year is devoted to an individual project in an aspect of IT networks.

A HND or foundation degree in a computing-related area with a merit profile.

This course is accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional and partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

Applied learning

Live projects

One third of the year involves a substantial project or dissertation. You have a project supervisor who provides one-to-one supervision and support. You're able to define IT projects that pursue your personal interests and that develop your practical skills or knowledge. Some work is on projects suggested by employers.

Networking opportunities

Throughout the year there are a number of opportunities for you to be involved in career management events, career fairs and workshops, employer presentations and visits. The course includes the frequent involvement of employers and IT professionals.
