The following topics are covered in this course:

  • Checking and replacing heaters and thermocouples
  • Checking and replacing core and safety switches on moulds
  • Cleaning and checking vents
  • Use of measuring equipment to check for wear and damage
  • Routine maintenance procedures and lubrication
  • Maintenance and repairs to mould cooling circuits
  • Nozzle and sprue bush seating
  • Mould polishing
  • Replacement of worn and damaged ejector pins
  • Maintenance and care of textured surfaces
  • Sizing and manufacture of ejector bars
  • Stripping and cleaning moulds and changing inserts
  • Removal of broken moulded parts from the mould (tricks of the trade)

Qualification
