Course Content
The following topics are covered in this course:
- Checking and replacing heaters and thermocouples
- Checking and replacing core and safety switches on moulds
- Cleaning and checking vents
- Use of measuring equipment to check for wear and damage
- Routine maintenance procedures and lubrication
- Maintenance and repairs to mould cooling circuits
- Nozzle and sprue bush seating
- Mould polishing
- Replacement of worn and damaged ejector pins
- Maintenance and care of textured surfaces
- Sizing and manufacture of ejector bars
- Stripping and cleaning moulds and changing inserts
- Removal of broken moulded parts from the mould (tricks of the trade)

Qualification
Certificate of Competence to carry out a clearly defined portfolio of electrical tasks.
