Thames Gateway College Information:
This course runs at Thames Gateway College at CEME.
Duration :2 year programme - 6.5 hours per week - Part Time Day
Who the Course is For:
This course facilitates the development of practical skills and knowledge essential for those training to become qualified road vehicle service and repair technicians. The National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) is a necessary requirement for the Apprenticeship Framework. This ensures that the course satisfies the students and meets the national standards set by the Automotive Skills Council, the Sector Skills Council for the motor industry.
Assessment:
All units are examined by on-line assessemnt in the form of multiple-choice questions and in order to assess the students ability to perform practical tasks to industry standards; simulated workshop activities of fault diagnosis and repair are arranged.
Course Leads To:
Career development in the vehilce service and repair trade. Progression to the IMI Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair course for vehicle diagnostic technicians. Advanced Apprenticeship programme when signed up with a Managing Agent.
