Course Overview
This course is suitable for students progressing from Fitness Level 2 and anyone with an interest in becoming an advanced instructor.

Students are required to obtain work placement within the industry, whilst working towards their qualification aim. This opportunity may allow students to secure paid employment once they achieve.

Course Structure
The programme is delivered over one academic year (36 weeks).

  • D437 - Collect and Analyse Information to plan a progressive Physical Activity Programme
  • D438 - Plan, review and adapt a Progressive Physical Activity Programme
  • D439 - Plan and Instruct Specific Physical Activities
  • C313 - Provide Motivation and Support to Clients during a Progressive Physical Activity Programme
  • D440 - Apply the Principles of Nutrition and Weight Management to a Progressive Physical Activity Programme
  • A318 - Manage, Evaluate and Improve Own Performance in Providing Physical Activity
  • Key Skills (Application of Number, Communication & ICT)


Qualification Aims
Additional training is highly recommended to enhance and supplement your main learning goal, to improve employment opportunities and add to your curriculum vitae. We endeavour to organise and arrange as varied external input as possible during your course of study.

Assessments/Examinations
Continual written andpractical assessments/assignments in both theory and practical aspects of thecourse. Practical assessments are carried out in a realistic work environment(RWE) on fee-paying clients. Level 3 students are required to continue carryingout Level 2 services in the RWE. A portfolio of evidence is compiled throughoutthe course and submitted for final verification. A final written assessment setby the awarding body.

If you are 19 years of age or over at the start of the course, the tuition fee's may be payable for£495 per year.

Free tuition is available to those in receipt of certain means tested benefits or totheir un-waged dependants.
