About this course

You must be aged 19 or over, have Level 1 English (or equivalent) and a basic knowledge of Microsoft software. Although not essential, some knowledge of the following topics would be useful: file management. creating spreadsheets and graphs. database manipulation. e-document production.

Integrated e-Document Production

Introduction:
Integrated e-Document Production is one unit of the Administration Certificate (NVQ Level 2). It can be studied as a stand alone unit in its own right, or alongside four other units to achieve tbe full Level 2 Administration Certificate qualification.

Study Mode & Location:
This 20 week part-time course lasts for 3 hours per week and will be held at the following community venues:

  • Bamber Bridge Learning Centre.
  • Broughton Learning Centre (at Broughton Business & Enterprise College).
  • Preston North End Learning Centre.


Course Content:
This course will enable you to develop a sound understanding of computer systems and how to keep health and safety risks to people and hardware at a minimum when using computers. You will learn to appreciate why certain data may need to be protected and the importance of archiving data, together with how to perform these tasks. You will also produce a variety of formatting techniques to display documents effectively and demonstrate your skills in using mail merge facilities.

Assessment:
This course will be assessed by an OCR-set practical assignment. The assignment will be internally assessed and externally moderated by OCR.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of this course may allow progression to higher level courses, or to the full NVQ Level 2 in Administration Certificate.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
