Course programme
This Course, given in workshop style, deals with the Front End of projects: the phases in which we pick the right project, assess feasibility, and select the right concept: all prior to engineering definition and execution. The Front End is all about making sure we're doing the right project: prior to doing the project right.
The Course uses a simple framework to describe -and control-the essentials of project management. The framework is called IASDEO, which stands for the first letters of the six phases each project -in fact, any undertaking-moves through:
- Identify: the phase in which we make sure we understand what we're getting ourselves into
- Assess: the phase in which we make sure we look wide enough to convince ourselves of the projects feasibility
- Select: the phase in which we select the key concepts and strategies that will shape our development
- Execute: the phase in which the projects main scope is executed
- Operate: the phase in which the value of the development will be realised
