Course programme
A stylist is the person who chooses props, finds a location or designs a set to make a photographic shoot happen on time, on target and on budget.
Interiors styling might be for an advert, press literature, editorial feature or a press launch. It could be for a TV makeover programme or an exhibition stand. On this course you will explore the role of the stylist and the importance of how to understand the requirements of the client before arriving at a solution.
You will look at the importance of understanding the brands and getting an accurate brief, and you will look at the different areas of advertising and advertorial promotions and the role that PR plays in all this. Through looking at a variety of editorial features you will discover how a particular magazine targets its readers. You will look at how shops and manufacturers present their products to their customers, and why it is important for a stylist to understand the brand identities of his/her clients. You will look at colour and style trends and how future trends are forecast.
You will create colour boards, trend boards and lifestyle boards and come up with ideas and solutions for a variety of styling projects.
Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older
