Statement of Purpose: To review the healthcare management of adults in a clinical setting, with special emphasis on cardiac disease and prevention.
Preliminary Objectives for Activity: “At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:
• Discuss adjunctive therapy following acute myocardial infarction
• Compare the historical and modern definitions of congestive heart failure
• Review the pathophysiology of acute coronary syndromes
• Discuss why myocardial infarction in the elderly results in worse outcomes
• Review trends in risk factor for CHD
• Review effective strategies for treating metabolic syndrome
• Assess CHD risk in patients
• Recommend the best diet for CHD prevention
• Compare the polypill versus polymeal approach to preventing CHD
• Review current developments in pulmonary hypertension
• Identify the three principal presentations of unstable angina


Conference Sessions generally take place during the days at sea (as cruise itinerary allows) to avoid conflicts with Ports of Call or evening entertainment.
