Minimum requirements

High 2:1

(65%)



Undergraduate degree high 2:1 honours (i.e. overall average of at least 65% across all years of study) required in a social science related area (e.g. management, economics, sociology or other relevant subject).

In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum high 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme. 

Please note: Meeting the minimum requirements for your application to be considered does not guarantee an offer as applications for this programme are very competitive.

Application procedure

Applications must be made online using King’s online application portal apply.kcl.ac.uk and a non-refundable application fee of £80 applies.

Your application will be assessed by academic staff in the department; we aim to process all applications within four to six weeks, but during February, March and holiday periods, applications may take longer to process.

Course detail Description

You’ll learn the skills you need for business success on the global stage. Our compulsory modules cover key themes, including international business strategy, finance and accounting, and comparative management.

You can also choose from a range of modules in subjects that interest you, from technology to marketing. And your 15,000 word dissertation is your chance to explore a specialism in real depth.

Course purpose

Course format and assessment

We use lectures, seminars and group tutorials to deliver most of the modules on the course. You will also be expected to undertake a significant amount of independent study.

teaching Modules Lectures, seminars and feedback Self-study Per 15-credit taught module The total contact time for each 15-credit taught module is 20 - 30 hours. These sessions will include lectures, teacher-led and student-led group discussions based on the main areas of study. Each 15-credit taught module has 120-130 hours of self-guided learning time. Dissertation module You will receive two dissertation workshops and four hours of one-to-one supervision. Approximately 592 hours

Typically, one credit equates to 10 hours of work.

The primary method of assessment for this course is a combination of written examinations, coursework, individual or group projects, presentations, case studies and multiple-choice tests.

Structure

Year 1 Required Modules

Courses are divided into modules. You will normally take modules totalling 180 credits.

You are required to take:

• Research Methods (15 credits)

• International Business Strategy (15 credits)

• International Finance and Accounting (15 credits)

• Comparative Management (15 credits)

• International Marketing (15 credits)

• Dissertation (60 credits)

Optional Modules

In addition, you are required to take 45 credits from a range of optional modules, which may typically include:

• International Entrepreneurship (15 credits)

• International Human Resource Management (15 credits)

• Work and New Technology: International Studies and Perspectives (15 credits)

• Information, Marketing and Technology (15 credits)

• International Financial Reporting & Analysis (15 credits)

• European Business Context and Corporate Strategies (15 credits)
