Study the issues facing humanity and how these have been thrust directly into our everyday lives. You'll learn to reflect on these issues systematically.
You'll look at the exciting and troubling times we live in as a starting point. You'll then use a theoretically grounded approach with a distinctive critical edge to cover the theory and the history of international relations. You examine a wide range of issues of contemporary relevance with students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Our graduates have gone on to pursue careers in:
government foreign and defence ministries
international organisations such as the UN
NGOs such as Oxfam, CAFOD, Amnesty International and the Red Cross
international development organisations such as World Bank
international media or journalism
academia and research institutes.
Graduate destinations
93% of students from the Department of International Relations were in work or further study six months after graduating. Recent School of Global Studies graduates have gone on to jobs including:
junior analyst, Euiss
research consultant, Institute for Strategic Dialogue
gender peace and security associate, Sida Swedish Development Cooperation Agency.
You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above.
