A course for people who are complete beginners with digital camera technology. Learn about the camera controls, how to download pictures onto a PC, and how to make simple changes to them. At only 5 pounds this course is fantastic value for money and is a great opportunity to "come and have a go".
Parking & Venue Information
The school is located on Kendal Road Park in main school car park on Kendal Road. Courses are in the West Building which is the building on the right as you approach the school. Follow the corridor straight ahead. Classrooms are on the right.
What will the course cover and how will it be taught?
The aim of this course is to introduce you to using a digital camera and to viewing your pictures on a PC. More specifically the objectives will be to:
Look at different types of camera
Learn about the camera controls
Learn to transfer pictures to a PC
Learn to make simple changes to them (eg making lighter/darker, cropping, rotating)
Understand about options for printing (home, shop, online etc)
Teaching will be by demonstrations, discussionsand handouts. You will have lots of opportunity to “have a go”. We will use a simple progress sheet to help you check how you are getting on.
Are there specific requirements for joining?
No this course isfor complete beginners to digital cameras or computers. Ideal if you want to gain confidence with new technology.
Will there be any homework and how long will it take?
No formal homework but it is a good idea to practice what you have learnt each week.
What about equipment, clothing and materials?
If you have a digital camera then please bring it along and make sure that the battery is charged up. Please also bring the instruction book plus the USB cable to connect the camera to the computer. Don't worry if you don't have a camera as yet. The tutor will bring a spare one along. Please also bring a pen and your glasses, if you need them.
