Costs and equipment Students aged over 19 on the start date of their studies, have to pay tuition fees. In addition they are expected to pay awarding body registration and examination fees, other third party costs, such as books, equipment and educational trips/visits and the College administration fee (currently £60). Some students may be eligible for a fee concession on certain courses, although in most cases some element of the fees will have to be paid. Fee spreading arrangements are also available allowing you to spread the cost of your course. Please call to find out more about concessions and fee spreading.

Course programme

The course consists of various units (Each with a credit value) which are completed to produce a portfolio. The units include:

  • Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
  • Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet
  • Accident prevention and fire safety when babysitting
  • Respecting and valuing children
  • Caring for young children in a babysitting environment
  • Rights and responsibilities in relation to parenting
  • There are no exam assessments.
