About this course
To allow people to experience bees, handling them and feeling comfortable around the bees. The course should provide enough knowledge for people to keep their own bees
Beginners
Sturdy boots, trousers [not black] and covered arms. Gloves are useful but we do provide gloves and suits.

Course programme
Course review:
A one day course as an introduction to Bee keeping. During the day, you will learn about the management of the honey bee and different types of hives and equipment required for beekeeping. An observation hive will allow close examination of the bees and their queen. After lunch there will be an opportunity to look inside a working hive. This course will be run by Oliver Sinclair. This course is open to a maximum of 15 people
The course will run from 10.00 prompt until 1600 with tea/coffee break. Please bring a packet lunch
Special Requirements:- A pair of gloves either rubber or leather garden gloves, long enough to tuck into a sleeve and boots, preferably Wellingtons and socks. Protective clothing will be provided. Please wear trousers.
