The aim of this course is to give you some understanding of the different effects available when working with different materials in glass fusing. You will produce samples for each exercise and then the final session of the day will allow you to be more creative by putting your skills and ideas into a 30cm square dish as your final piece

This course is suitable for any one interested in learning about glass fusing techniques. You might be a complete beginner with absolutely no experience of glass or you might be someone with limited glass experience including glass fusing itself who wants to gain more knowledge and confidence of working with fused glass.

About this course

This workshop will take you through a series of different products that you can fuse into your glass and a variety of techniques. This will give you a good understanding of glass fusing which you can then apply to your overall finished piece (a large square dish)

Anyone with enthusiasm wanting to learn and understand glass fusing techniques and ways of applying products.

There are no minimum requirements for this course. Children must aged 12 or more and are welcomed but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Class size is a maximum of 4 students. This ensures a small intimate teaching group which allows full tutor attention to each individual student. There is no minimum class size so once you have booked your place you can be confident that the class will run.

Once availability has been confirmed and you have booked your place via eMagister, you will be sent by email confirmation and parking/location details. Then you just need to arrive at the venue on the right day and tie.

Course review:

This 1-day course is a practical hands-on experience giving you the skills and knowledge to make your own work. You will go away with lots of samples of different techniques. No previous experience with glass is required, however if you have worked with fused glass before you will still be taught lots of new skills. Once you have worked through the exercises to produce your samples, you will finish by putting all your skills together to make a square dish.
