Introduction to Jung and His Ideas
5th January - 16th March 2010 (no session 9th February)
6.00pm - 7.30pm

Jung's life led him to bring together a vast array of ideas in relation to understanding the nature of being human. From Archetypes to Alchemy, Jung formulated and utilised concepts to give shape and meaning to an understanding of the psyche and the way we, as individuals, function. Over the years Jungian terms such as archetypes, complexes, the shadow etc., have become part of everyday language. So, what are Jung's ideas, how did they evolve, what is their appeal today and how do they help us understand the nature of being human.

A series of 10 seminars that will run on Tuesday evenings, 6.00pm - 7.30pm from January - March 2010.

The seminars will:

* Give an overview of Jung's life and consider the way his ideas emerged
* Explore some of Jung's key concepts including archetypes, complexes, the shadow and the alchemical metaphor
* Examine the way in which Jung's ideas help us understand more fully the experience of being human.
