An introduction to the skills required to study at higher education levels and. within a higher education environment. -A broad understanding of the structure (anatomy) and functioning (physiology). of the human body so that you are able to cope with the in depth study of these. subjects on the BSc course. -An appropriate understanding of the underpinning physical, chemical and. biological sciences. -The opportunity to explore relevant scientific ideas. Suitable for: applicants who have not studied science-based subjects beyond. compulsory participation at school, but have the appropriate study skills. applicants who would benefit from a science refresher course prior to. starting the degree. applicants who have not studied at Higher Education Levels, and would. benefit from practising the study skills essential for success on the. degree, through relevant subject and topic based activities.

The Foundation Course in Osteopathy

The Foundation Course is an in-house intensive course of study delivered by the College of Osteopaths. Anyone can attend the Foundation Course as it is designed primarily to be interactive, thought-provoking and enjoyable, as well as introducing essential skills and knowledge. However, the course may be a condition of gaining access to the degree programme.

Programme Structure

The course consists of six days of taught sessions that take place over three weekends, prior to new student intakes in September and January. For the September intake the programme usually takes place at the beginning of August, and for January students, at the end of November.
