A Level
Introduction
A leve Psychology is made up of the AS and A2 qualifications. AS and A2 each take one year and together make up a full A level
Psychology gives you insight into the study of the mind, the brain and behaviour. It looks at individual development as well as the behaviour of individuals and groups.
The course will increase your scientific knowledge and skills and will introduce different ways of investigating topics in psycholgy eg experiments, surveys, observations, case studies and questionnaires.
Course Content

Entry Requirements
To enrol on the AS Psychology course you will need 5 GCSEs to grade A to C.
You will need to have successfully completed the AS course to progress to the A2 course.
Duration
A level Psychology is a two-year course, but at the end of the first year, students will sit the AS Psychology exams. Students can then continue to the A2 level for the second year to achieve the full A level.
Assessment
We take the AQA examination board and follow Psychology specification B.
AS - Modular Examinations
= 100%
A2 - Modular Examinations = 100%
Both courses are modular and there is no coursework.
Progression
Success with A level examinations provides access to higher level studies such as university degrees.

Free to 16 - 19 year olds
Free to those up to 25, providing they do not already possess a level 3 qualification (A levels or equivalent)
